Kristine johnson, STUDENT VOLUNTEEr

Kristine has the great fortune to be living and playing full-time in one of British Columbia’s largest Resort Municipalities. Her current work has her supervising the Whistler Visitor’s Centre run by Tourism Whistler. The visitor’s centre provides frontline, face-to-face assistance to well over 500 guests per day on average.

In almost 20 years in the Resort, Kristine has worked for some of the biggest players: Tourism Whistler, Four Seasons Resort Whistler, Whistler Blackcomb, the Resort Municipality of Whistler and VANOC. Her roles have included supervising, concierge services, sport instruction, data collection and analysis and training.

Kristine recently completed the Destination Resort Management diploma from Capilano University as offered at the Squamish campus. Her coursework provided a theoretical platform for her diverse practical experience. Kristine understands how important tourists are to her community and has done what it takes to keep them coming year after year whether it’s cleaning their toilets or organizing a wedding proposal via helicopter on top of a snowy mountain.

“I am thrilled to be on the CBT Viet Nam team and have this opportunity to positively impact lives of the people in the Sapa Region of Vietnam through the power of tourism.”
